Where does Neighborhoods Inc. get its funding? Neighborhoods Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation and is financially supported by many corporate, municipal and private donors in the Calumet Region. In addition, the members of Neighborhoods Inc.'s staff and Board of Directors contribute financially to Neighborhoods Inc. How can I volunteer to help Neighborhoods Inc.? If you want to volunteer to help Neighborhoods Inc., either in the office or at our various community events, please contact us. We appreciate every hour donated! How is Neighborhoods Inc. different from other Community Development Corporations? Neighborhoods Inc. is dedicated to improving the neighborhoods of the Calumet Region. This mission cannot be realized without the inclusion of ALL income groups; therefore, our programs are not restricted to low- to-moderate income homeowners of the Calumet Region. Neighborhoods Inc. sponsors events within the neighborhoods for all residents. We sponsor block parties and neighborhood clubs to encourage neighborhood unity. We also contribute to the improvement of neighboring communities because we know that what is good for them is good for the Calumet Region. How do I apply for Homebuyer Education Classes? Yes, Neighborhoods Inc. has three staff members fluent in Spanish. Email the instructor to apply for a Spanish-language class.
